A Parent's Guide to helping children succeed in high school
I love horses with a passionate obsession, of course. I began riding Quarter Horses at age four, the same year my Mother and Grandmother first took me to a Thoroughbred racetrack, the (sadly) now-defunct Green Mountain Park in Pownal, Vermont. Shortly thereafter, we found our way to the rail at Saratoga, and that was that.
I hold a Baccalaureate in Philosophy of Religion from Mount Holyoke College, a degree that, while it's not directly related to my vocation as a racing essayist--critical thinking, theology and Jungian studies from my major all come to great use in my jobs. I work as a freelance writer in Thoroughbred racing, available for web content and any other equine-related gigs. Work currently includes that of head racing writer and handicapper for Saratoga Today newspaper; a popular blog (I hate that word) at Saratoga.com (http://www.saratoga.com/horse-racing-blog/) and ranting, raging Op/Ed on HorseRaceInsider.com.
That's about it...I write, edit and try to work to better the lot of horses--well, of all equines. I hope that somehow, my writing and activism will benefit horses, so that it can be written on my gravestone, "She saved a horse's life."
